Ash Wednesday

Its Ash Wednesday today. I went to a liturgical mass at noon...received my ashes. The preist said some things that stuck with me. He said that its not about giving up chocolate or soda but it is about abstaining from things that make us sin. He gave the example of being lazy. If you are lazy here and there on a regular basis, it soon becomes a habit. We need to think about negative things in our lives like that that we can give up during this time. The main thing that he said that has stayed with me the most is "Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return"...think about it. Evaluate your life and make changes. Not just for the 40 days of lent...but for ever.
